Lita Rossana Ford, also known as Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The band was never able to the band to be popular in America, but they gained a lot of acclaim in other nations and in particular Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career with heavy metal. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her Album Out for Blood. The albums of Ford were not particularly successful and she disappeared for several years. In 1988, she released her hit album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, her popularity was brief and she disappeared from the world of music for a number of decades. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. in 2016, the latest album, 'Timecapsule', was made available. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
